Zongmin Chen completed her studies of Chinese Literature and Language at Huazhong Normal University in Wuhan, receiving her bachelors degree in 1982 and her masters in 1984. She has been specialising in the teaching of Chinese to non-speakers for about fifteen years, as an Associate Professor at Shanghai Normal University, Beijing Institute of Education, and then Hainan University. In 2007 the Chinese government sent her to Charles Darwin University (CDU) in Darwin, where she set up and taught the three-year on-campus and online higher education programs in Chinese over the next four years. During 2012-13 she was directly employed by CDU, where she also started the non-award program in Chinese for the CDU Confucius Institute. She has also successfully organised various Chinese cultural activities. She is experienced at teaching beginners to advanced students, both face-to-face and online.

        陈宗敏，毕业于武汉华中师范大学中国语言文学系，1982年获学士学位，1984年获文学硕士学位。自九十年代末她开始从事对外汉语教学，有近14年的对外汉语教学经验。作为副教授，她曾在北京教育学院和海南大学担任初中高级班的汉语教学。2007她作为公派教师被国家汉办派到澳大利亚查尔斯达尔文大学(CDU)任教，为CDU创建了三年六个学期的中文课程及网上中文课程，并承担了四年间的所有的汉语教学工作。2012年到2013年，被直接聘为CDU的讲师，在此期间为CDU孔子学院创建非学历中文课程；曾多次成功组织中国文化日，汉语角及其它文化活动。在教学上，她擅长于初中高级汉语综合课面对面教学及网上教学。

With a Master of Arts, she is an Associate Professor at Zhanjiang Normal University teaching Linguistics, Modern Chinese, Putonghua, and Chinese as a Second Language since 1989. The foreign students taught have mainly been from England, America, France, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. The main Chinese as a Second Language courses she has taught are Comprehensive Chinese, Spoken Chinese, Chinese Listening, Reading Chinese and HSK Counselling. She has more than twenty years of Chinese teaching experience. Her hobbies are Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess, singing songs and playing badminton, ping pong and volleyball.

        文学硕士，研究方向汉语语音史，从1989年至今，先后在中南民族大学、湛江师范学院任教，职称为副教授，担任语言学概论、现代汉语、普通话、（初级、中级、高级）对外汉语等主要课程。教学对象为大学普通生和外国留学生。从事的对外汉语教学课程类型主要有：汉语综合、汉语阅读、汉语口语、汉语听力、HSK辅导等。外国留学生来源于英国、法国、美国、日本、韩国、越南。教学经验丰富，课堂效果良好，深受学生欢迎。爱好广泛，喜欢书法、中国象棋、唱歌和球类体育运动。

Mrs Jinxia Mao studied Chinese language and literature in Shaanxi Normal University from 1997 to 2004, completing her first degree in Putonghua (standard Mandarin Chinese) in 2000 and her masters degree in Chinese in 2004. In 2004 she also received a Qualification Certificate for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Advanced), and in 2005 she received a Certificate for Teaching Language Subjects at University. She has many years experience of teaching foreign students Chinese language. She has acquired an good knowledge of teaching Chinese language as a foreign language and is able to teach Chinese systematically and professionally to students whose mother tongue is not Chinese, as well as to do relevant scientific research.

Mrs Mao has taught foreign students Chinese language as her specific duty since 2005. The main subjects which she has taught include Comprehensive Chinese Grammar for beginners' classes and Comprehensive Chinese Listening for intermediate classes. She takes "dedication to career, love of career, profession of career" as her belief. She teaches with a professional and patient attitude, and treats students with sincerity and fairness.

        毛金霞，女，1997年至2004年就读于陕西师范大学文学院，经过了七年系统的中文学习，2004年获得中文硕士学位。2000年获得汉语普通话一级乙等证书、2004年获得汉语作为外语教学能力高级证书、2005年获得高等学校语言学教师资格证书。有多年教留学生汉语的经验，具备从事对外汉语教学工作的相应专业知识和技能。

        自2005年以来，专职从事对外汉语的教学工作，主要讲授的课程有：初级班的综合课、语法课；中级班的综合课、听力课。在教学工作中信奉“敬业、爱业、专业”的理念，以专业、耐心的态度对待教学，以真诚、公正的态度对待学生。

Baixin Yang graduated with a bachelors degree from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Lanzhou University. As an Associate Professor, she has taught Chinese as a second language since 1998. She has experience with teaching students of intermediate and advanced classes who have already mastered at least two thousand words of vocabulary. She good at teaching Comprehensive Chinese, Reading (include newspaper and magazine reading), Writing, and Chinese Culture. She has often received good feedback from her students for her long term and short course classes.

        杨拜新，毕业于兰州大学中文系，本科学历，自1998年以来，作为副教授，从事对外汉语教学工作，主要给中、高级班（已掌握2000以上词汇量的学生）讲授综合课、阅读课（包括报刊阅读）、写作课以及中国文化课，特色课程为中、高级班的综合课和汉语写作课，有丰富的教学经验，无论长期语言班或短期项目班，均受到学生的欢迎和好评。

Paul is a linguist who completed his doctorate at Yale in 1975. After linguistic research in Ethiopia and Aboriginal Australia in the 1970s, he began teaching in the 1980s, increasingly in applied linguistic areas. In 1989 he completed a Graduate Diploma in TESL, after which he taught English in Japan from 1991-93 and again in 2003. From 1990 to 2015 he was a Senior Lecturer in Language and Cultural Studies at (the now) Charles Darwin University, after which he retired from that position. In 2008 he had the good fortune to marry Zongmin Chen, whose work in Chinese he has been involved in ever since.

Throughout his career Paul has studied a variety of languages. His publications include papers on Ethiopian and Australian Indigenous languages as well as on the teaching of English, Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese, the latter often co-authored with research students or other colleagues, including the Director of the Eastern Road Language Centre.

Paul not only provides the Centre with advice on language teaching, but he also supports the Centre's use of information technology, including its website. Although not an IT specialist, he has worked with computers since the mid 1960s, has been developing web pages since the 1990s, and has experience teaching online since about 2005. Unfortunately his IT ability is too limited to do a better job than he has done on this website.
